Eidsvoll 1814's vs. Butchers
starts Butchers EFL-league
Defense coach Jan Vilkko tells
to us what we are getting against us next weekend on Norway.
I've heard you see one
Eidsvolls game from video, was it EFL-game (vs. Razorbacks)?
No it was actually their game
against Karlstadt Crusader and they won it by one goal. Actually it was very
informative match to us.
How Eidsvoll played for
your point of view?
It looked like a basic option
offense. I think we are ready especially in defense to stop this kind of
offense, unless they get something special spices on their game. Althought
everything is possible and if Eidsvoll can practise something special that
we won't think about, then there is one big challenge to us.
Eidvoll won Razorbacks
pretty clear, what thoughts about that?
Scores look that Eidvoll owned
the field and they have many great players from USA, Germany, Swden etc.
It's going to be tought match, but I'm very confident of my own team.
First Vaahteraliiga (Maple
league) match is played, how it looks after that match and two practise with
whole team?
We are going forward with the
team and specially with our foreign players. Don't you forget that we had
only two full practise before Wolverines game with our new guys. Rest of the
team has practised whole spring, but our new players came only one week
before the first match. Now we have those practises, one game and two
paractises more. I think we are on our way and getting to our goal.
After playing one game,
what is the ladders to success in EFL?
To do the little things right.
Now we have to think those little things, like what we are doing with our
new quarterback, who plays different style than Petrus (Penkki, Butchers
2005 & 2006 QB). Calls with new guys, QB droppings vs runninback positions,
timing in offense/defence etc.
We have very talented team and we see many mistakes in Wolverines match but
it was mainly because it was the first match of the season. That makes
allways a little extra mistakes and mixed up with a new players, that makes
games a little bit like lottery. All these players are very experienced and
we don't have to focus to basics. New player & team needs repeats again,
again & again. That is one key to get those silly mistakes off the game. But
like I say before, we are getting better every hour & every day when we
practise together.
What are your greetings to
Norway?
Vennlige hilsen!
