Porvoo Butchers-Triangle Razorbacks 19.6.2007 Porvoo, Keskuskenttä

Eidsvoll advanced to the semifinals by defeating both Butchers and Razorrbacks Butchers was unable to stage all its' talent out on the field in Norway and that left something to be desired. Therefore the home team was highly motivated against the Razorbacks in Porvoo.

First quarter: Razorbacks started on the offense, but in their first drive Razorbacks' QB Peter Linnemann's pass was intercepted by Butchers LB Mika Marttila. Butchers got the ball near midfield and moved it very effectively through the air and on the ground. The offensive turn was finalized by RB Markus Haverinen's 5 yard run, with a big help from the offensive line. Extra point was kicked by K Sami Mikkonen and the score was 7-0.

On the next Razorbacks' offensive turn Butchers fumbled the punt return and Razorbacks got the ball moved to 1. downs, but was then forced to punt.

After a great punt to the Butchers 13 yard line, started Butchers offensive turn. First QB Justin McKenzies 77 yard pass to WR Matti Lahti was good and RB Markus Haverinen, who was in a great playing mood, ran 10 yard gain to endzone. Extra points snap to holder wasn't on target and the kick failed. Score 13-0 to Butchers.

Razorbacks' QB Peter Linnemann was the unfortunate soldier of the first quarter. In the end of the first quarter he threw his second interception, which was caught by DB Josh Schleusner (USA). Razorbacks also committed two personal fouls after return run against Josh in a dead ball situation and Butchers offensive turn began on Razorbacks 5 yard line.

Second quarter: Butchers QB Justin McKenzie (USA) run 2 yard and scored Butchers 3rd TD. K Sami Mikkonen succeeded on the extra point and score 20-0 to Butchers.

Next Butchers offensive drive started on their own 20 yard line (after a punt touchback). Butchers got 1. down and ball on the 50 yard line. Then the offensive line shined along with RB Markus Haverinen. Markus took a diagonal run to left side, the offensive line and receivers blocked real well and Markus ran 50 yards for a TD. Sami Mikkonen kicked the ball and score 27-0 to Butchers.

Next two offensive plays were catastrophic for both teams. First LB Mika Marttila forced QB Linneman to fumble and the ball was recovered by DE Tommi Padatsu. Then Butchers WR was forced to fumble by a Razorbacks' player. Razorbacks developed a solid offensive turn and moved the ball three time for first downs to the Butchers 19 yard line. For the second time DB Josh Schleusner intercepted the pass and saved the Butchers endzone. Butchers gained yards to threaten the Razorbacks endzone, but the time was running out. Butchers attempted the field goal, but it failed.

Third quarter: Butchers started off as the offensive team. A long drive ensued. Butchers was able to run out the clock and move the ball four times for 1. downs. The drive ended with RB Markus Haverinen running for a TD from 3 yards out. Sami Mikkonen's kick attempt was successfull score 34-0 to Butchers. This drive depleted over 7 minutes off the clock.

During the quarters end half was both teams to have one drive without scoring.

Fourth quarter: Razorbacks began the quarter in dangerous field position. First they were on their own 15 yard line. After a failed reverse play LB Sebastian Karbin sacked WR Kristian Worm at the 2 yard line. The Razorbacks' managed to punt the ball, but that resulted in good postions for the Butchers offense. Butchers got once 1. downs, when QB Justin McKenzie's pass found WR Pekka Piminäinen in the endzone for a 30 yard TD pass. Sami Mikkonen delivered the extra point between the uprights and score was 41-0 to Butchers.

Razorbacks developed again a very good offensive turn. Butchers defense was in "prevent the long throw"-mode which left the middle of the line vurlnerlable against the running game. The Razorbacks' fought their way down. The drive was capped off with a 8 yard TD pass. QB Peter Linnemann found WR Kristian Worn in the Butchers endzone but the extra point was blocked and the final score was 41-6 to Butchers.
